aircraft purchase

Post by dental1 »

Hi
I would like to know if an aircraft like a c172 is purchased with just vfr equipment, and the c172 I have in my sim is ifr equiped, how is this handled? Is it the honor system to just not use the ifr capabilties or do I need to actually have a model in my simn that is just vfr equipped.
thx Lee

FSE will "disable" the ifr components of your aircraft.

Beware VFR-only aircraft. FSE will fail your com/nav radios. PE recognizes the failure and kills your coms. This is a known issue which is being addressed by Laminar at our request. In fact, I think 10.35 might have separated out the nav and com failures, but I have to look into it again.

Keith, that's coming in 10.4, which entered Alpha testing a few months ago. That'll fix the VFR-only issue, but seeing as I've never actually seen a VFR-only aircraft in the PE coverage area...
