FSEconomy and X-Plane

Post by BonanzaDude »

Why isn't there an easy interface for FSEconomy? How many different programs do I have to install in order to run the FSE Client? Python and some Lua thing. YUK!!!

You don't have to install LUA.

The answer to your question is 3.

1) Python
2) Python Interface for X-Plane
3) FSEconomy Python script.

If you'd like help, feel free to ask.

FSE works great in XP once it's set up. I did the whole thing for Linux this morning in less than 2 minutes from start to finish.

The FSE forums are also a great resource for getting XP set up properly. Not easy, but not the end of the world either.

My negative comments should have been directed to FSEconomy. They have the FSUIPC and SimConnect download stuff on the main page. Once I found the instructions it was much easier. Not the 2 minutes it took Keith but pretty close. UP and running. Ready to depart for my first X-Plane/FSEconomy/PilotEdge flight. :D :D :D

John, I look forward to mocking you mercilessly at the PE/MFR meetup at OSH. Please tell me you're going to be there.

I assume you'll be complaining about how hard it was to get to that camp site as well. ;)

The plan now is that I will be there.

Problem with FSEconomy client is that my only option when I landed was to cancel flight. Parking brake set sitting on the ramp at KSFO.

With X-Plane you have to kill your engines as well. The X-Economy window will show you the conditions you need to meet for starting and ending flights, but the short version for ending a flight is "Parking brake set, no fuel flowing to engines".
