Alex, I added one of Air Boyd's specific playlists, thanks. I want to make sure the links take people directly to the training/safety content...not a general collection of videos.

Keith,
You can delete this post if you think the link is not relevant. Hal Stoen's website is full of great aviation tidbits, including specific instruction for those of us who are sim pilots only. I bought his dvd and it is easily worth 10 times what he charges for it.

Steven,
The tutorials are totally relevant. I meant to include it in the first post but figured I'd just see what people came up with

I'd like to recommend Jason Schappert's (MzeroA.com) YouTube video collection.
http://www.youtube.com/user/MzeroAFlightTraining
Jason is a full-time flight instructor and has been posting topic-oriented videos on YouTube for some time. He explains, then demonstrates each topic/maneuver, complete with cockpit audio/video.

Gavin, good call. I was actually in discussions with Jason before we launched to see if he might want to work together. I should re-approach him to see if this might be a good training platform for him.

I'd like to recommend Radio Mastery for VFR Pilots by Jeff Kanarish available at Amazon for Kindle or iPad.This book provides practical advice in a conversational easy to read dialogue for novice VFR pilots on ATC communications. It is all about VFR radio communications. It covers all aspects of VFR radio work and example cross country flights with class D, C and B airports.
