SNA to BUR. CSTN 1,2 or 5 Which?

Post by bruce »

There is more than one option when searching for a TEC route.
What is the difference between them & how do I decide which to use?

I think it depends on what type of aircraft you are flying.

Ok, so which is the route to be used by GA a/c?
I'm guessing that PQ40 means "piston" & 4000ft. Q = ???
& J = jet M=?? P= piston & again Q = ??
So at a guess a piston a/c could fly either the CSTN1 or CSTN 5 but there must be a speed range that governs your choice though.
Yours,
mostly confused :?

Use CSTN1. I believe CSTN5 is only used when LAX is in east traffic, which is pretty rare (the winds have to be blowing off shore).
