V2 rating and Disneyland Park Theme limitation

Post by iomagico »

I'm planning the very short leg from KSAN to KONT for the V2 rating.
On the Keith video I see a takeoff clearence from 19R and then a right turn HDG 330.
After turn ATC asked for maintain VFR at or below 2400 same HDG.
My question.
How can I be sure to respect the Disneyland theme park limitation for aircraft at or below 3000 AGL?
Thanks in advance

That's a good question. I reviewed the TFR more closely. In the past, I simply thought that being in communication with ATC was sufficient, but apparently not. We'll review this internally to see if we can issue instructions that will keep aircraft clear (not all pilots are aware of the TFR, it's probably only those with ForeFlight or Skyvector that routinely see it), and we'll find out how it's handled r/w.

In the mean time, feel free to request a turn.

Thanks Keith for the super fast reply.
Will ask for a turn.

Printed the VFR chart with the written Disneyland limitation and took a look on skyvector which draw a 3 miles radius circle taking on count the limitation.
The IFR gates as showed on this 3d view pdf
http://www.ocair.com/generalaviation/do ... 092010.pdf
are quite far from the park and for sure at more than 3000 feet AGL
Cheers
