Yay, I passed my V-1 checkride on the first try! OK, I know it's not nearly as challenging as the tests that follow, but it still feels good to have a test behind me. I did the exam at Grand Canyon National (KGCN). I thought I flew pretty well, keeping the pattern pretty close to the field, and my landings were uncharacteristically soft. That said, I did take too leisurely a base turn on my first circuit, slightly overshooting the final approach path.
I know new VFR tests are on the way, but I'm going to try to get through the three existing VFR checkrides before they are replaced. So, on to learn about the V-2.
Passed my V-1 :)
