ATC instructed speed restriction cancellation

Something came up during the event that I hadn’t encountered before. I was being vectored out of KVCV and on a speed restriction of 120Kts (cruise speed 160 in my AC). ATC gave me an altitude change and vector to join an airway that was on my flight plan and instructed me to resume normal navigation. I assume that ‘resume own (or normal) navigation’ does not cancel speed restrictions already given, unless the aircraft is entering an approach procedure. Is that correct?

Correct. Speed will be specifically mentioned.

The phraseology to remove a speed restriction is “resume normal speed.” Depending on the situation, you may also hear “resume/comply with published speeds” or “delete speed restrictions.”
