CAT 5 QUESTION
I noticed in the transcript that flight following was never terminated after landing, is this required or is it automatically terminated by the TRACON or ARTCC? Thanks

Re: CAT 5 QUESTION
I think you might be confusing VFR flight following (radar services) with a VFR flight plan or an IFR flight plan.
- VFR flight plans need to be proactively closed by pilots with Flight Service at some point.
- IFR flight plans are closed by the tower when you land at a towered airport. Otherwise, pilots can cancel in the air, or through a number of mechanisms when landing at a non-towered airport.
- there is no requirement to terminate flight following in the air, and certainly not after landing. If the airport that you're flying into is non-radar, or non-towered, then ATC will terminate your radar service prior to releasing you to the CTAF.
