For any of the helicopter guys out there who might be monitoring this thread, here is a link to the FAA website where you can Download the Helicopter route charts for free, directly from the FAA. It shows the helicopter VFR routes for all of the airports that have them, as well as additional VFR reporting points that aren't shown on the LA sectional charts. When you go to the link, click the helicopter tab to find the charts for Los Angeles.

For anyone interested, here's a link for a PDF from the Los Angeles world Airport website. It provides a some details about Van Nuys Airport and its helicopter routes, and well as general helicopter operations. This info is useful for any aircraft, but it specifically addresses the use of the helicopter routes in and around KVNY.

This is a similar link for use at KLGB, it's a lot more in depth on helicopter operations in at long beach airport. It goes in to detail as to how to use long Beaches center helipads for traffic pattern work as well as altitudes. It's gear more toward the student pilot but it's good information non the less.
