PEaware: What am I doing wrong?

Post by punder »

I did my CAT 2 a few days ago, and CAT 3 a few minutes ago. I am listed as having passed both of them, but the flights never appeared on PEaware. The last flight that did was Sep. 30, which was my CAT 1 IIRC.

Both times I've completed a flight plan, and taxied to parking after landing, and sat for a few minutes with everything running. What am I missing or doing wrong?

The Sep. 30 flights were in Robin 121DM and the missing flights were in Skyhawk 282AM, if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Patrick

Hello, I dont work for PilotEdge, I am sure someone who is much more knowledgable will be along shortly.

I did some quick analysis in the meantime, hope this helps someone:

This pilot matches your dates is this you
https://www.pilotedge.net/training/pilot/2064

Assuming that is you - I agree the cat 3 flight (listed above as having taken place for you to get the cat 3 rating on pilotedge ) does not show on peaware against that pilot.

http://peaware.pilotedge.net/pilot.cfm?cid=2064

(peaware does show your earlier robin 121DM flight.)

If you search peaware for flights to KSBP for October 13, only two show up as having originated from there (bearing in mind cat 3 is circuits) and neither of those match either of your skyhawk callsign you mention, or the above pilot's id.

Also and unless I missed it, unfortunately I could not find /hear any flights doing circuits at KSBP on the pilotedge audio recordings section of the website before and around 14:55 PDT on October 13th:
https://www.pilotedge.net/audio/2018-10-13

I am searching before 14:55 PDT as that is the timestamp of that pilots cat 3 rating on the above ratings page.

I also agree that pilot does not have a matching cat 2 flight as showing in peaware for October 7.

When you connect to Pilotedge do you include the leading N in the aircraft callsign ?

Hi sono, wow thanks for all that research! On my cat 2 I neglected to include the n (and was properly chastised for it) but did include it in the cat 3 flight plan.

Planning on the cat 4 today, will see what happens. I'm thinking it's more important to get the cats logged than to have my flights immortalized on PEaware, but I also want to make sure I'm not making a mistake or omitting a step somewhere.

Hopefully someone with PE will chime in. Thanks again-

Ha, turns out I'm an idiot. I confused signing on to PE with filling out the flight plan.

I'm reasonably intelligent, usually. But the moment I log in to PE my IQ drops 40 points, I swear.

But hey, I got the cat 4!

Well done on the cat 4. yeah you need to check what call sign you have in the connection settings before connecting to pilotedge

so that call sign, what you file and what you say on the radio should match in call signs.

I also found your cat 3 recording with some help from zandrew (it is in the ZLA radar here: http://assets.pilotedge.net/recordings/ ... _17510.mp3 starting at 12:52. You called up with N282AM so the audio is fine.

I cant see your cat 4 on peaware either, so definately some issue there.

Got my cat 5 this weekend, and apparently did everything right this time, because the flight is on PEaware.

Gotta say, wow, there have been some epic chewings-out the last few times I've flown (luckily none involving me, knock on wood). Maybe that 40-point IQ drop happens to other people too. :)
