Fly Aspen

Post by Kilstorm »

Very happy that PE used KASE as one of the new full time Class D airports. This airport fits perfectly as a base airport for what I am looking to get out of PE. Detail addon airport with high frames, simple taxiway layout, interesting plates to learn and practice on with nearby airports like KTEX, KEGE and KDEN to fly to. I am settling on a Piper Cherokee to use so there is a drawback to being able to fly some IFR FPs but right now I just need to focus on the radio work.

And what a contrast KASE offers compared to SOCAL.

1) Mountains 2) Heavy snow storms. 3) Massive en-route winds at altitude.

Great location! Western Expansion is awesome.
