1st flight help

Post by Tex-Twil »

Hello,
I've just joined PE and after flying on non towered airports and talking to myself :) I decided to fly my 1st flight to a Class D airport from L52 to KSBP.

When I contacted the KSBP tower on 124.0 just before entering its airspace nobody answered so I turned around back to L52 :/

- I was connected to PE
- I did setup my Xplane "Contact ATC" button
- I did have the correct COMM 1 frequency set
- I did check my Windows recording setting and made sure the mic is picking my voice.

What did I miss? How can I do a comm check to be sure that my PE setup works?

A more general question: how do I know if a given tower is online (has a controller) or not?

thanks!

cheers,
Tex

So I found my radio contact in the archives and the ATC did answer me but I did not hear anything in my Xplane. I think I missed something :)

I found the problem: the PilotEdge settings did not have the correct audio output configured.

Now all works

If you haven't specified any device in the preferences, the system will use the default communications device by default. If one isn't defined, then it uses the default device. I'm glad you got it all worked out.
