Lancair Legacy "numbers"

Post by punder »

I will be flying the Aerobask Legacy FG for XP. Can anyone (Keith??) suggest power combinations for the phases of flight?

I fly a 360, not a Legacy, so I can't be of much use. That said, for final approach speed, you can't go too far wrong with 1.3 x VS0 as a starting point. For cruise and climb out, though, normally-aspirated (not turbocharged) pistons are typically operated wide open throttle if it's a constant speed prop until the later part of the descent (search for articles by John Deakin in the Pelican's Perch series for more info on this, that's where I learned all about lean of peaks ops. The guy writes some amazing stuff.)
