Help me find the TEC route out of SMO

Post by C177pilot »

There is a TEC route of of SMO that intercepts one of the LAX radials then turns south to intercept and SLI 251 radial. I've flown this before but I cannot find it again. I think my flight was interrupted and I terminated so cannot find it in the PE flight history. I liked this route because of the VOR navigation. (Note in real world I'd make user points in my FMS, but I don't think the XP11 430 will do that)
Anyway, thanks for the help.

Thank you Keith. Now that I see it, it was not as complicated as I recalled it to be. However, on a real GNS430 I would have to create a user waypoint for the intersection of SMO125 and SLI251 radials if I wanted to navigate solely on GPS. In XP11 I need to use the old-school VOR's I think since I cannot create user waypoints.

the intersection of V64 and V363 is a fix called WOKRO. Years ago, that named intersection didn't exist. It drove /G people insane and was the basis for quite a few of the IFR scenarios that we built in the past.

However, the intersection of SMO125 and V64 (the one you're pointing out) is just as good to throw a wrench in the works. There are still ways to fly it /G without a user waypoint. It's the basis of the SKY-1 rating if memory serves.
