PilotEdge Workshop: VFR Planning and Comms [Jan 1 7pm PST]

Post by Keith Smith »

Our 2nd workshop, "Scenario-based VFR Flight Planning and Communication" takes place tomorrow at 7pm PST on the DTP TS3 server (ts3.digitalthemepark.com).

We had a great turnout for the first workshop on VFR airspace (available here on YT, thanks to Mark Hargrove for capturing it) and hope to see a big crowd again for tomorrow's workshop. These are a great opportunity to meet up with other PE pilots online and get your questions answered!

I would humbly suggest arriving a few minutes early if you haven't connected to the DTP TS3 before so the gracious staff members can get you into the right room, verify operation of your TS3 push to talk key (no voice activation), etc.

I'll be there in spirit (0300z) but will be on the front row for the recording!

Just finished watching the first one. Very informative/enjoyable indeed. 3 hrs well spent.

Wasn't able to join the second workshop either, so I'm looking forward to watching it when posted.

Thanks!

Hi Keith,
Was this one recorded by chance?

Yes, Mark was kind enough to record it again. He's going to send me the files this evening if he has time, then I'll get them posted.

Awesome, I unfortunately had to miss this one as I had other engagements.

Thanks again to Mark for recording it!

I missed the first one, but watched the recording. I was able to attend most of last night's.

I must say Keith, you do a fantastic job of presenting and I found it incredibly helpful. Thanks to all that had a hand in the presentation, and I can't wait until I can review what I missed.

Thanks, Lee. It was a good time and there were lots of good questions and observations. Mark has rendered and uploaded the video in two parts (core and Q&A) to my server. I'm downloading them to the home office as we speak, will check them out, then will upload to YT if they're good as is.

It sounds like more a case of luck // and generousity // that these get recorded, rather than as a standard practice. I know it would be more ideal if everyone just joined live, but that simply isn't always possible. So if it's not too much bother, it would be truly fantastic for everyone if they could all be recorded and uploaded... not just for the current PE'ers, but for generations to come :D

(and for flight students everywhere... since it is also such a great promotional tool for PE)
