Lockheed-Martin says release is this month. Screenshots are all over the web and, I must say, it looks impressive! Keith, have you had the chance to try Pilot Edge with 2.0 yet?

Where did you see an official announcement from LM about this? There is nothing on the P3D website.

Mark,
Wes Bard stated so on the official P3D forums. Also, check the Facebook page of just about any major developer for screenshots and additional info, since the NDA was lifted 2 days ago. More info on pricing, etc will be posted on the P3D main page on Monday.

Haven't been focusing on P3D v2. If any developers can find out if the SimConnect API has been deprecated in any way, that would be helpful.
Re: P3D v2.0 release imminent!
Keith, I just posted that very question on Lockheed's forums. I'll let you know the answer when I get it.

Looks like Merv is about to do some software installation work soon, they got it ready quicker than I anticipated.

Re: P3D v2.0 release imminent!
Lockheed Martin updated the official P3D website this afternoon with more information about the impending P3D v2 release, including license pricing (bottom line: it went up $10 to $59 for the academic version and stayed at $199 for the Professional version. There is a new "Professional Plus" license at $2300(!) per copy which seems intended for military customers (no real details on what additional features it includes).
No actual release date cited ("in a few days"). Here is the link: http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2013/11/4648/

So - 59.99 means I have to be in school? or a student pilot?
199.99 for a standard home user? That just seems a little steep to me... but maybe I'm looking at it wrong...
