Menu stuck at "Loading Vehicles"

Post by reddawg14 »

With PE installed, from the menu of P3D, I am unable to select an aircraft.

The selection menu just sits at "Loading Vehicles," but never comes through. It doesn't freeze, it just never loads any aircraft.

I know PE is causing this as uninstalling PE resolves the issue.

I just installed P3D v2.5.

v2.4 did the exact same thing.

The PE client DOES work from within the sim, I just can't change aircraft.

Any thoughts?

PE installs a lot of aircraft (the squawkbox and VIP model sets). It could be taking a long time to index those, but it should eventually complete the operation. What's the longest you've waited to see if it responds?

You could try moving the VIP and Squawkbox folders out to a temporary location then fire up the sim and see if it works normally. If you'd like to operate without those aircraft libraries, you should go into PilotEdge\aircraft and rename the sb.sms and vip.sms files to .bak extensions so that PE doesn't try to use them.

So I let the menu just run and it did finally load all vehicles after about five minutes.

I renamed those two files and temporarily removed VIP and Squawkbox folders and the vehicle list populated instantly.

Problem solved.

Thanks Keith.
