New Prepar3D Install, PE Client Not Working

Post by BonanzaDude »

I uninstalled P3D to upgrade to the newest version. I didn't touch PilotEdge on my remote computer. I copied all the simconnect files from the old install so that I would have them.

The reinstall was completed and I did the following:
Recreated my share for the Prepar3D install directory
Moved the simconnect.ini and simconnect.xml files back to their original directories
Installed PilotEdge client on Prepar3D computer as Running flight sim only.
Uninstall and reinstall PE client in remote computer.
Installed all SimConnect files on my Prepar3D computer
Tried running PilotEdge from the remote computer. Sticks at Loading Aircraft Info.
Uninstall all SimConnect file on remote machine
Reinstalled all SimConnect files on remote machine
Fired up Prepar3D and then PilotEdge client. Nothing

I am having the same issues with ASNext as well. Nothing was done on remote computer except to reinstall SimConnect files. Is there a log file that PilotEdge creates? Given the issue with ASNext I am guessing something is happening with SimConnect.

FYI. I ran PilotEdge client on the flight sim computer and everything was fine.

Thanks,
John

Sounds like your simconnect server isn't working on P3D. There should be a way to get it to print some debug info on a console. I forget the exact settings, but they are out there when you read the docs for the simconnect server.

Anyone have any clues by looking at this log file? One thing that I did notice was the 127.0.0.1 IP address. My ini and xml files both have 192.168.1.111.

0.04076 Server: Scope=local, Protocol=IPv4, Address=127.0.0.1, Port=49904, MaxClients=64

I'm a moron. The xml file was in the My Documents and not the AppData directory.

It's working now. Sorry about all the fuss!!!!
