For me the PE client worked in V3 without doing anything. I installed V3 next to an existing V2 installation and it just seems to work.

The only odd thing being that when the PE client isn't the application in focus I can't transmit. It either isn't recognising the key stroke PTT button, or it isn't picking up my mic.

Not sure if this is a windows 10 thing or a P3D V3 problem?

We've seen this in FSX, the solution for it is to run PE in administrator mode.

Keith Smith wrote:If you'd like to trick the current installer (which supports P3D v2) into thinking that P3D v3 is actually V2, try this:
- Rename the registry key for P3D (Software\Lockheed Martin\...) from having 'v3' in the name to 'v2'.
- Rename P3D folder in the %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin folder to have 'v2' in the filename instead of 'v3'.

Run the PE installer and my guess is that it'll find the registry entry as well as the DLL.XML file. When you're done, change the registry entry and the folder structure back to what they were (so P3D finds them again).
Worked like a charm. Thanks, Keith.

Thank you, I didn't think of trying that.

The issue is that the sim is running as Administrator, so it swallows the PTT keypress, You can either configure the sim to NOT run in Administrator mode, or you can configure PE to run in Administrator mode. This is covered in the installation docs.

For what its worth. After installing V3 the PE client seems to work. I did not doing any workarounds. The phrase "seems to work" means I showed up on the map and when I changed frequencies it reflected the change. I have not tested Comms yet. I will tonight. I have V2 and V3 installed on the same machine.

Hi Jon,

I put Global back on last night and I'm back to microstutters again. Almost wish I hadnt done it, I cant see a massive amount of difference in the visuals anymore.

A bit confused by this last part. Does this mean that Prepar3d v3 visuals look the same as FTX Global? Or that FTX Global doesn't work in v3?

I'm considering Global and looking for data points on whether its worth it.

Thanks in advance.

ORBX works in V3, but the eye candy being worth the performance hit , that is the question. Vector has more impact than global though.
