Just a thought. If the aircraft are "crashing" because of the altitude discrepancy, I don't think they return to your session. I've heard before that this may be the case.
X-plane has no problems drawing other aircraft. There are some great HD models there too.

It would be interesting if there was an area like an "aircraft parking lot" that let you view it from your own sim, like a tower view, to test out what's visible and how both default and non-default aircraft show up! (Not sure if that's even possible)
I'll try X-Plane out to see how things appear. (I wanted to try it out with PE anyway.)
I did see the download for the high quality aircraft - how much does that affect performance?
