Connecting Foreflight to P3D - Differences in Options?

Hello all,

Searching the forum I see a mix of people using FSXFlight and FlightSimGPS to connect P3D to Foreflight on their iPads.

I'm curious if there are any noted differences between the two. One is payware (FSXFlight) while the other is free (FlightSimGPS). Do both do exactly the same in all aspects (data passed, etc)? Anyone used both and have an opinion?

Thanks!

FSXFlight shows traffic, both the drones and the PE pilots. I've used both and prefer FSXFlight for this reason.

Excellent information. Exactly why I asked. Had a feeling there might be a caveat like that. Thanks BFG!

BTW, love your channel and videos. Thank you for the hard work.

Hi all, unearthing this 4 year old thread for a related question. I'm dealing with a machine running P3D v1 (it's an FMX AATD). I see that I can use GpsVR as well, but after reading this thread it appeared as though FSXFlight was the best option in order to see network traffic as well. When I go to that site, however, it appears that plug-in is no longer for sale.

My question: does anybody know if GpsVR will show traffic on a P3D v1 instance? Or, does the other alternative (FlightSimGPS) work to show traffic as well?

Thanks for the insight!

Anthony
