OK to Refuel or Non-Stop Only?

Hi everyone,

If I am on a flight from say KFUL to KGCN, but I stop half way for fuel or rest (X-Plane stays running and logged in entire time), will PE aware still recognize my completing the flight from KFUL to KGCN, or does it have to be a non-stop to get credit for that alphabet challenge leg?

Thanks!

That's one of the longer flights, but pretty much any half decent plane will carry more than enough fuel to complete the flight with adequate reserves. If you need a rest break, chose a sensible time and just tell the controller you'll be away from the computer for a couple of minutes or so. He/she will say "OK" and ask ask for you to report back as you return!

Hello,

I am flying a C172 (105 knots) and I would love to do the Alphabet Challenge. However, I am now in KFUL, and I realize that to continue, I will have to fly to GCN, which if my estimate is correct, over 4 hours away... Impossible to do that in one leg (I have a family life and my "cockpit" is not that comfortable).

Is there any way I could file a flight plan KFUL > KIFP > KGCN, and stop at KIFP (Bullhead) for a day ?

If not, is it possible to bypass the flight KFUL > KGCN and continue with the alphabet and still submit them?

Thanks

Your flight planning is incorrect. KFUL to KGCN via HEC to avoid restricted airspace is 316nm, which is 2hrs 15mins in a 172 at 120ktas. That's well within the capability of a non-stop flight for the aircraft.

thanks Keith for your encouragement,

I did it, although the flight via HEC took 3 hours in Xplane's C172, 105knots (plus preping the plane).

Will continue the alphabet challenge!
