How do I position myself on a GA ramp?
X-plane doesnt have ramp defined for many airports and for those airports that have x-plane defines ramps, it's hard to find out where I am and taxi to the runway.
...or is it ok, to just show up on the active runway?
Can you guys give me an example?

Easiest way to do it is to open the local map. It's up in the options there somewhere, then you can click and drag your plan to wherever you want to.

Just mind some of the sceneries - If you drag the plane across a variable relief, you may potentially take our parts of it
That's why I usually pause, slew up, very the elevation of the new area, slew down to within 3m or so, then alternate between the map and external view, until the wheels are touching the ground. Nothing ever gets ripped off that way.
