FYI - Feb 6th is day that MFR’s annual contract with our text to voice supplier expires. In light of the ongoing PE development of an internal ATIS system I have elected not to renew that annual contract.

My understanding is that a new X-Plane client is not required to support the new functionality.

Is this going to work with FSX also or are we out there with no audio ATIS after Feb 6?

It will be actual radio broadcasts through the PE radio system, so it's not a sim-specific implementation.

Just did my first flight with the new ATIS. Very Nice Keith and to who ever else made it happen. It really adds to the immersion.

That would be Peter, Tim, and all of the controllers who helped during the testing. Also, Ken's MFR was the start of all of this and gave us some great ideas for moving forward.

As I mentioned on discord this morning:
That sad moment when the code you wrote becomes obsolete is only surpassed by the joy of knowing that you never have to fix it again!!! Kudos to the entire PE team on the release of the new ATIS system. This takes PE to a whole new level of reality and training potential. Congratulations guys!!!

...also had my 1st flight with the new ATIS....EXCELLENT!! I am using an iPad together with Foreflight when flying on PE, and in the past I had to exit Foreflight and fire up the ATIS on myflightroute.com to get the letter code for the weather information, which was a bit annoying. Now we have it all in place like in the real world! Maybe in 10 years from now there will be no RW training and fun flights anymore since everything will be simulated so well that the immersion is almost the same - would save a lot of CO2 emissions :)
