Experimentals in Pilot Edge

Post by Dale_D »

Good morning.
I am a new subscriber to Pilot Edge. My purpose for joining is to improve my ATC communication proficiency and flight planning skills. I am also enjoying flying the virtual skies with my brother.
The 14 day free trial proved instrumental in deciding to subscribe.

I own and fly a Vans RV-9A in the real world environment. I plan on flying within the P.E. environment using an Experimental RV-9 flight model and my actual tail number.

Will there be any issues identifying my plane as an experimental, while knowing other P.E. pilots will visually see a Cessna 172 model?

Do the P.E. controllers obtain the plane types from the initial P.E. log-in profile?

Thanks,

Dale,

The controllers obtain your aircraft type from the calls you make on the radio, or from the type listed in the flight progress strip (in cases where you file an IFR flight plan).

The ICAO code in your connection details is only used to tell other sims how to draw your aircraft.
