My first IFR from KSNA

Post by deansalman »

I do plan to do the I rating but like always I seem to have questions. I have gone through the first 2 workshops for IFR and plan to do them all. I fly either a DA40 or DA42 with the G1000. I don't use the AP much because I prefer to fly the route myself but do load the flight plan as reference. So I see that Anaheim 9 departure is really the only one that works with my aircraft. Do they ever depart Rwy 20L on IFR. The reason I ask is that there is no reference to it in any of the plates. Right now to learn I am setting up a flight just to how fore flight works with IFR from KSNA to KPSP. Piggn two looks like it would be perfect but my aircraft won't work. Anaheim 9 to Seal Beach and transition to Paradise works well so I suspect that is the best way. Anyway still learning IFR (ground school like) or any other references suggested is welcomed. Thanks

ANAHM9.SLI.V64.TRM

There are no SIDS for runway 20L.

That explains why we used 20L when we took off from there, we were VFR.

Sure, all the time. You’ll just get initial heading and altitude instructions in your clearance.
