Flying ZLA IRL

Post by mmcgrego »

While visiting Anaheim on business I took the opportunity to fly a C172 with a local CFI...wow! Great weather for a tour around LA that included the Rose Bowl, Hollywood sign, touch and go at VNY, LAX SFRA, and lunch at AVX. It felt eerily familiar after flying on PE and I was rattling off visual reporting points like I grew up there. I’m glad I had a CFI to share workload and give me a chance to take in the scenery, but in retrospect I think that would have been totally doable solo after being on the network. I wanted to request the mini route to relive some V-3 stress but my CFI didn’t think it was being offered much anymore.

Thanks Keith and PE team...I know my experience here and with RW Coast to Coast helped me feel confident to even try this. It would have been a shame to miss it.

Great to hear. Yes, the mini-route is closed in real life for now. It's going to be pulled from the CAT-10 just as soon as I can.
