connection problem

Hi
I Installed the pilotedge plugin in the plugin folder in x-plane 11.34 and the connect and disconnect are greyed out.
any help is appreciated.

The issue is that your xplane sim was configured as an external visual in a multi-machine setup. That's the only circumstance under which the connect button is greyed out. It could happen again easily if the configuraton isn't disabled in your network settings. I'd encourage you to take a look at those. A reboot isn't likely to change much, long term.
