Should we being trying this on PE...would be interesting and great practice for what can happen in RL.

It was quite a nightmare real world, but no it’s not being simulated on PE since it’s just a short term thing. Plenty of large (airliner ready) non-towered airports to try, though. KIGM in ZLA and KMMH in WUS come to mind off the top of my head. Not to mention the many larger delta airports in WUS that are non towered on PE but towered in real world.

To provide some perspective just how much COVID19 has impacted the airline industry, the average LAX ATCT daily traffic was ~2000 ops (takeoff & landings) per day prior to COVID19. In the current COVID19 environment, the daily traffic count is ~500 ops. Huge impact!
