Squawkbox error

I just recently reformatted my computer due to a virus. I reinstalled windows 7 ,FSX , scenery ect. Everything works and looks fine. I then reinstalled Pilot edge. The installation went without a hitch. Now the problem. When I try to connect I recive the following " An error has occured. Click ok to abort squawkbox (11)" when I click ok , crashes and I have to start over.

I did not have this problem before I reformatted! I am puuting in the correct password . Can anyine help?

Was it because the headset wasn't connected? I'd like to make it more resilient to that case in the future.

Yes, saw a previous post somewhere and you mentioned configuing the headset. So I tried that and instantly the error message did not occur. recieving and transmitting worked fine.
