Suggestion: web-based IFR filing

Post by c.b.powell »

I would like to suggest a web-based form for filing an IFR flight plan with PilotEdge. This would purely be for convenience, nothing more. The plugin-based form works well enough; it would just be slicker and a little easier to do it in the browser with tabbing between fields, etc. It would also pave the way for you to later add route validations or other advanced features if you wanted to, I suppose.

Thanks for the suggestion. This has been requested in the past, and it's something we will eventually do. The web-based portion is not hard to do, but interfacing with the server will take a little bit of work. That, and the fact that flights plans are current associated with a logged in user. I need to disconnect the existence of a flight plan from the requirement that the pilot be connected at the time.

All good stuff :)
