With a heavy heart, I'm posting that the PE Windows client no longer will launch on my work PC due to company restrictions. So....

Is there any way to use a normal TS client to just listen to ATC?

No, because it's not a normal TS server.

However, we are working on a streaming solution. Hang in there.

Found a work around using a separate PC for now. Thanks for the quick note back Keith.

I open the PE Receiver program and select all frequencies. I haven't heard any ATC chatter for the last hour or more. Same thing happened earlier in the week. Any thing I can do to test actual connectivity?

I'd be all over a streaming option since obviously, there's no Linux client. (Not sure if one was ever requested or not).

I have a friend that is a Mac and iOS Developer. I asked him how hard it is for a developer to convert a Mac Desktop App to iOS App.

His response:
"If he has a source code (and I believe he does), it is easy. You actually use the same code. You just need to adjust your user interface. Should not be a huge amount of work."

I'm curious if it really would be that simple for the PER?

The bigger issue is that there isn't a publicly available version of the voice library for IOS. While I think I know how to get hold of it, there's a limit to how many projects we can work on simultaneously. There's more going on than most people aware of.

I've discovered a way to crash the PilotEdge Receiver on Mac. It's not a common situation, and I doubt it's worth investing resources to prevent, but in case anyone runs into it at least they might know why. In a high latency situation (I had an 800ms ping) if two channels (CENTER, APPROACH, TOWER, GROUND) are selected in rapid succession the application will crash. I suspect this is due to the first channel not completing its connection process before the second channel attempts to connect.

I was unable to test with the Windows receiver as my connection had stabilized by the time I figured out what was happening.

Using OSX El Capitan 10.11.16 on Macbook Air, the PE RCVR App crashes if I select any channel before first selecting either Center or Ground. Also, when CTR or GND are selected I hear no audio even over a period of 10 min at 1641Z. Does PE Rcvr even work on Mac?
