Sub-Forum for Prepar3D

Post by Michael Smith »

Any chance we will see a sub-forum for P3D?

Also, is the installation the same for P3D as FSX?

I've been thinking about that. Since the FSX and P3D are essentially the same product (for now, at least), sharing pretty much the same code base, I don't think it makes sense to split them off, since issues affecting one platform are very likely to be the same issues for the other. If Lockheed Martin actually develops P3D and it diverges from the FSX code base (this is in progress, afaik) then it will make sense to do that.

Keith,

FSX and P3D certainly are very similar, but they also have their important differences and separate sets of issues (for example, the setup is different - so you can post a sticky about setting up PE in P3D, which can certainly free you up from working one on one with folks like me to set it up). So, I second having a separate subforum so that we can keep threads about P3D together. Can we at least have a subforum on a trial basis to how it goes? Thanks for the consideration.

Fair enough, thanks for the additional information. I've created a P3D forum.
