This is a known issue with this controller which we are solving, it should go away soon.

At first, I thought it was the VHF audio filter that I run, since it's known to mar inputs when the CPU is under heavy load

I'm curious ... does your VHF audio filter only the PE Comms and not all of the other sounds in the sim? My attempt using Equalizer APO resulted in VHF AM sounds for everything, engine, wind, etc ha ha.
