So far, it looks like Walt Hurley, Steve Winslow, yourself and the demo aircraft itself. I can try and be there, too, but this sounds like a great group already (it actually doesn't take very many planes to give a very compelling demo, believe it or not).

Makes sense -- I know when I'm flying the pattern, more than 3-4 planes doing circuits can get nuts... especially if you throw in a turbine to really screw things up on a single runway field! Lots of 'Delayed base' or 'I'll call your base' stuff...

Thanks, everyone! I'm looking forward to this demo tomorrow. One note: If SBA is IFR when we log on, I'll use KPSP as an alternate, since it has parallels, is relatively GA-friendly real-world, and stands a, shall we say, very good chance of not being IFR...

Tim, I just joined up at KSBA. Foreflight is showing SBA as IFR, but real-world weather is showing a slight overcast level at 1000, other than that it appears fine.

Yeah, it's IFR. We'll be using PSP.

I'd say! I think at one point I counted 10 planes signed on and at least 4-5 in pattern... whoever the controller was did a GREAT job keeping us all nice and spaced.

The traffic was great! On one of my final approaches for a touch and go, there was someone just departing. I was getting concerned as I got closer and they were still "lined up and waiting" and I was coming in. I was just about to ask if I needed to go around when ATC gave takeoff clearance. I'm sorry I initially lacked confidence that ATC would get him out of the way before I got there, but I was grateful when I heard the clearance. A lot of fun!
