[Sep 29 2-5p PDT] Event: PilotEdge Birthday Bash

Post by Keith Smith »

Come and join us on September 29, (2pm-5pm PDT) for our first Birthday Bash as PilotEdge celebrates its first year of operation!

Jet jockeys can partake of the famous LAX to Vegas run, while props and turboprops enjoy a run from Bullhead City airport to Henderson, just a few miles from Vegas itself.

The action starts at 2pm PDT (5pm EDT, 2100z)!

No birthday would be complete with gifts, of course. Any pilot that participates in the event (completes a flight between the event airports within the event hours) will be in the running for:
Grand Prize - 1 Annual Membership
2nd Prize - 3 months of free membership (2 available)

Is it not possible to fly LAX to LAS in a prop? I like the scenery better. :-)

I've seen a few videos of GA planes landing in LAX, so it's probably possible just expensive in real life :). I'd love to fly a jet on this one but the only thing intimidating is that I don't quite understand arrivals (I get the concept) and RNAV.

I'm considering flying from Havasu or Needles to make the trip a little longer, otherwise it's over in 30 minutes. Or maybe I will fly the Learjet VFR on the other route.

I'm happy to start at Long Beach or John Wayne if that would be better than starting at LAX.

For sake of reality & time permitting I am considering flying GA (Legacy) from KVNY/KSMO/KSNA to KLAS instead of LAX to LAS.
Hoping I will still be entered for the prize draw.

Yeah, that seems like the thing to do. I'm happy to fly the same route with you, Bruce.

It's all good, do what works for you. We were going to try to staff our end for the configuration listed for the event, but we will have some coverage across the whole artcc, of course.

The idea of ifp to hnd was to make it relatively short for a slow prop but if you have a fast prop,.lax to LAS is still fine, time wise.

Sna and lgb aren't much closer, as a guess.
