Couple questions.

1) Is there really a March VOR? I see that it shows up in the Skyvector flight plan linked on the 1st page but I don't see a label for it anywhere on the TAC or the LA sectional. A quick google search came up with nothing.

2) How are you guys approaching L35? I usually fly north up the canyon from REANS to the west end of Big Bear Lake, then make position reports from there on in. I  that's how it's done in the real world (see: http://www.bigbearcityairport.com/pilots/ ) but not sure if I should just climb to 9500 and go direct to the field like in the flight plan already posted.

Here's what I'm thinking: http://skyvector.com/?ll=34.02282926609 ... 3:A.K2.L35

Hi Jeff,

1)There is a VOR but only shown on LAX Area chart

http://skyvector.com/?ll=33.92561153540 ... 3:A.K2.L35

2) I think there is not only one way for approach to L35 as long as you remember rwy 08 has a right hand TP.
I will just enter the pattern for the runway depending on the wind.

I like the route, I will fly that.

See you guys tomorrow, might be late a bit because we need to go to MVS but I will try the best.

Have fun in any case.

Cheers, AJ

P.S. Just watched the L35 link, awesome !!!!

Thanks for pointing out the LAX Area chart AJ, I don't think I've ever looked at that before.

Last minute bump for the fly in tonight...

You are welcome , Jeff
I would not either if you did not ask.

OVC 019 at SNA.... I guess it will be IFR departure and then cancellation when I get closer. Cheers, AJ

It was fun, I normally do not fly IFR ( until I feel my VFR flying is good enough) but the weather forced me to do so and it worked perfect. Looking forward to next EC fly-in. Thank you for participating. Cheers, AJ

Sorry I missed it guys. I was up in the real C172 with my CFI on our night XC. Hopefully I can make the next one.
