Hello again everyone, this is the second installment of the PilotEdge Fly-In series. This time we're going to head north up the coast to Santa Barbara!
What
KSBA Fly-In. Fly whatever plane you want from where ever you want, using which ever (legal) flight rules you want to Santa Barbara. Hang out on the ramp after arriving and watch as others come in. Chat with other pilots on the IRC channel. Jump on teamspeak for some hanger talk.
Where
Fly to Santa Barbara (KSBA) from somewhere in SoCal. It has a nice long runway and terminal for the jets, and also a couple of FBOs for the rest of us
When
Arrive at KSBA on Saturday, May 17th at 2000 PDT (8:00pm). Notice, this is the arrival time. You will need to do the flight planning for your chosen route to get to SBA at the appropriate time. The key to this being a fun event is getting everyone into the airspace at the same time. Do your flight planning!
Event time zone converter
Resources
Skyvector for charts and flight planning.
MyFlightRoute for route generation/TEC lookup. Set "Destination Airport "to KSBA and get a random flight with whatever other parameters you want.
PIlotEdge IRC Chat for chatting during the event.
DigitalThemePark's Teamspeak: ts3.digitalthemepark.com (This does require a mod to give you citizenship if you've never been on before).
Feel free to leave questions/RSVPs.
The previous fly in went great, lets see if we can break our 32 concurrent pilot record!

I'm really enjoying this type of fly-in group flight with the traffic it draws and the ATC it brngs! Thanks for posting this!
Re: [May 17, Sat 2000 PDT] KSBA Fly-In
I missed the last one so I'll try my best to be around for this one!

I'll be there...
If this is as well attended as the last one, you may need to consider an arrival window (02:00 - 03:00 Zulu for example) instead of a specific time for the next one.

IMO the more the merrier! Some of us might actually get to/have to practice "holding".
I had a blast the last fly in. Even had a plane on the runway cause a go around. Great practice. Love the extra radio chatter.

Just a reminder that the fly in is this evening. The post didn't generate as many replies this time, but we'll see how many pilots attend. Looking forward to to!

Good Fly-in Tonight.
I was at the tail end, but still good amount of radio work for VFR , and lots of chatter from other pilots making it engaging.
I look forward to the next one.
Controllers keep up the good work.
