[Aug 15, Fri 8:00pm PDT] KAVX/KCRQ/KSBD (IFR w/1 VFR depart)

"Two Legs are Better than One!"

I'll try to make this quick and easy. Here's what I'm planning for myself tonight, and hope others can join in and fly with me for some/all of it:

(all times Pacific / West Coast)
  • 8:00pm to 8:45pm: Pattern work at Catalina (CTAF: 122.70)
  • 8:45pm onwards: Call for Clearance to KCRQ (SoCal Departure: 127.4) *
  • 8:50pm to 9:10pm: Depart Catalina
  • 9:20pm to 9:40pm Arrive Palomar, chillax a little and watch others come in (do some pattern work if you get there really early!)
  • 9:40pm onwards: Call for Clearance to KSBD
  • 9:50pm to 10:00pm: Depart Palomar (to arrive KSBD between approx. 10:30pm and 10:45pm)
* I'm going to request a VFR Departure in my Clearance readback, and strongly suggest others do the same (or else we will tie up other IFR AVX traffic). See here for more info about IFR at non-towered ops and the rationale behind this.

LEG 1: KAVX to KCRQ

MyFlightRoute: http://www.myflightroute.com/tecsub.php ... Q&type=%25
Full ILS rwy 24 approach from OCN[/b] (if you prefer and have the time): http://skyvector.com/files/tpp/1408/pdf/05310ILD24.PDF
Altitude[/b]: 5000 ft

LEG 2: KCRQ to KSBD

MyFlightRoute: http://www.myflightroute.com/tecsub.php ... D&type=%25
Altitude: 6000ft

I'll be in the Baron 58, but happy to keep the speed down to match a single piston, i.e. ~120 KIAS (as ATC allows).

I'll also be on PE IRC, in case anyone wants to chat: http://www.pilotedge.net/irc/

Despite the 11th hour notice, I always hold out hope that as many folks as possible can join in for as much or as little as their schedules permit. As always, the more the merrier :D

That's probably past my bed time, but if I'm awake and lucid, I'll join.
Thanks,
Lance

Oh don't worry, I'll be half asleep as well by then (I'm on the East Coast). That's what autopilot is for . Seriously, though, hope you can make it for some of the time.

Looking forward to your big event tomorrow night as well, Lance. This is just a "warm up" round for me.

I'll probably be awake, but I'm usually pulled into a BF4 room to put some lead in heads by that time of night, LOL!
Thanks,
Lance

Just to throw it out there since this will be the same IP for the VFR flight tomorrow...

If you would like to jump on TS to chat or talk crap, the IP is: 69.137.45.143 password is vfr

I'll be on muted but will join if/when others come in.
Thanks,
Lance

Thanks, Lance. I'm just booting up and getting ready now though, and no time to install and figure out TS tonight. lI'l try and get it sorted for your flight tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'll be in the IRC chat room.... (not properly seated until kids are in bed though... at least 20 mins!).....

Mmmm. The photo was larger on my other monitor.

Anyway, thanks again for joining. Was fun!
