setting it up on a LAN is very simple...you just enter the IP of the other sim and you're done. The complexity comes when you're trying to do it over the internet. For a LAN, it's trivial.
Yes, you can use a Mac on one machine and a PC on the other, the protocol isn't machine-specific.
The manual is on the smartcopilot site, if you still can't find it after looking, let me know and I'll go find it.

Ok, do your choice of "Mike Drop" or towel handing Keith...I overlooked the huge Wiki Button and went to Dowloads where only XSmartCom Demo has a manual listed...I guess I didn't associate wiki with manual. Oh well.
