Gents,
What: Helicopter obstacle course.
Where: HELI
When: 22 Feb 15, 2100 EST
Why: Because we can!
Tonight will be the inaugural run of the helicopter obstacle course located between Rancho Vallecito and Emory Ranch. It can be downloaded along with the rest of the TSP scenery here.
All parties are welcome. The pilot with the best time will have their time added to the paint scheme on the scenery for all to see.
Hope to see you there.

Re: 22 Feb - 2100 EST - Helicopter obstacle course
Lookin forward to it!!! Just a quick reccomendation: would it be too hard to add some crashed Helis around the perimeter to represent the number of Helis that will be lost tonight? Or maybe a pile of scrapped Helis?

I'll add a tally somewhere after the event. Pretty tough to add crashed helicopter objects though.
Re: 22 Feb - 2100 EST - Helicopter obstacle course
Yeah sure. Thanks for the consideration. It would definitely be cool to keep a tally of all the crashes helis.

I'm SO down for this. I also bought SmartCoPilot last night so shenanigans shall ensue.
I might try and set the 412 record.

Re: 22 Feb - 2100 EST - Helicopter obstacle course
For the record with a 50 knot wind from the correct direction it can be done in a C172, to include a proper turn around the nose. So far I've needed to use a lot of exterior views as the down visibility in a C172 is non existent.
I have enough witnesses and who will attest to me doing each obstacle successfully once. I've yet to do a complete run though, but I'll see if I can a video of one soon.
Here's the video of the various run troughs it took to get 1 successful pass at each obstacle. There are a couple crashes during it all, but it's a proof of concept.
I think I see a fixed wing division opening soon.
