22 March 2100 EDT - Glider Fly-In

Post by ChrisS »

It's almost time for the bi-weekly community led fly-a-polooza!

Who: Everybody's invited!

What: Glider Fly-In. Bring your payware glider or use the very well modeled X-Plane 10 stock glider and soar with the eagles (not to be confused with The Eagles, they won't return my calls).

Where: TBD - I'll make a Wx call on the 22nd and update this post. I'll likely build a quick custom gliderport scenery as well.

Why: I've wanted to do a glider fly-in for a while. There's no competition, no prizes, just a good way to have some fun flying around with the awesome crew here on PilotEdge.

When: 22 March 2100EDT (0100Z 23 Mar 15)

How: 2 Minute glider tutorial for X-Plane users.

Hey guys. I'm on my way home from an impromptu ski trip and probably won't be back for the 2100EST start time. If anyone else wants to take the reins on this and post a Wx call I'd really appreciate it. I'll try and jump in as soon as I get home.

Looks like Tehachapi and Shoshone both have winds strong enough to support gliding,

So is the event saved or will we let it glide into the sunset for a later day?

L70 (Agua Dolce) has that nice ridge edge of the runway, KTSP can get dodgy sometimes. So depends on the winds
