Nelson, bless you for thinking that would change the outcome :) You'd have to be pretty far away (or another freq) to not be heard!

Good to know they are short legs. I might do the B407 then as I feel it's more forgiving should I come to the edge of airspace waiting for clearance or continue on with my oblong shaped circuits. Hovering and slow speeds allow for easier corrections. Is it weird I find fixed wing pattern work harder?

I hear ya. Those airplane things scare me,

Very much looking forward to seeing all you guys on Sunday, and thanks to everyone for the great feedback.

Ahmad, that's kind, but I literally had nothing to do with the event...it was Chris/Ken all the way.

Lol I am far from a rotorhead...I suck at both, it's just that the ability to enter a hover makes them feel easier on in flight mistakes. I love flying a plane, just cannot line up my approaches that well if not doing a straight in path.

This was a real blast. Think it was only the second time I''ve heard someone else on a CTAF - have never seen that many people online when the network opened. I was minutes behind Peter the whole way (my excuse is that I shut down my engines after every flight...) - actually finished in front of him for second place in the race to finish (made straight in at Big Bear whereas he overflew to enter downwind)! Only "issue" was IFR conditions on the second leg, which led to me being 50AGL skimming the trees, hence the reason why I landed in front of Peter as he was on his takeoff roll. Proudest moment of my life :D Thanks to Ken and Chris (+the anonymous people) for setting this one up.
