Helicopter Formation, KAVX

Post by Farufon »

New to Pilot Edge, but a R44 Pilot by in the real world. Would love to do some simple maneuvers with someone via 122.7 at Catalina. Wednesday Apr. 15. Time slot flexible.

Also interested if anyone can demonstrate virtual cockpt using x-plane 10.

thank you.

When you say "demonstrate virtual cockpit" are you referring to shared cockpit, or are you referring to 3d virtual cockpits in xplane?

Suggest posting a new thread with a specific date and time in the title (see the 'sample post' thread). You're more likely to have a response. I'd also suggest setting the time to be after business hours (pacific time) for the highest chance of getting someone involved. FiveChickens or ChrisS would be your best bet, they're both r/w helicopter pilots. I'd highly recommend the Bell 407 or Jetranger. There are shared 'pit files for both of those and they're both way easier to fly than the Robinson :)

Hi, not sure if you found anyone, but I have the B407 and am willing to join in on stuff if I'm free. I will state that I'm usually busy during the week though.

I'm just starting to learn how to fly helicopters, so I'm in no way competent to participate in an actual formation. But I could see noodling around behind the airfield in a Bell 206 while you real pilots do stuff. :)

I'm not a real pilot either but I've got about 40+ hours in the sim on the bell... With about 5 hours at the helicopter course by Chris. If it weren't for that course I would be still learning to hover lol.

Would love to join in. Have my rotor PPL with a little over 100 hours. New to the service also and loving it.

I'm back home now after a road trip, would love to help out on the 407 or the 206 etc. We can do some Bravo transitions shared if you like, those are fun.
