Tail dragger Fly in...any interest?

Post by stealthbob »

I have been enjoying some fun streams by Chevyrules and tonight by FlightSaitek flying some tail draggers, the Beaver and the Cessna 195.

Any interest out there to get a Tail dragger fly in...maybe include a landing comp?

I understand that the CSL's are not yet there for these planes so that may be a show stopper...???

Just wanted to throw it out there as I have been enjoying the hell out of the Beaver while also getting some more DC-3 time in as well.

Kinda afraid of the Cessna 195 if I am honest, that thing looks like your trying to land on the moon.

BTW...thanks for the streams guys.

Still getting up to speed with PE, but I am very interested in this. I hope to complete my PPL this year in a Citabria.

The main issue is the lack of CSL's for the types of planes that would be in this, all the planes will look like off balance 172's I think.

If/when they come in we can pick this up and give it a try.

I'd love to get a taildragger added to the X-Plane CSL suite. Let me know which planes you'd want to fly for something like this along with a link to the developer's web site and I'll reach out to them for permission to convert these and make them available.

Awesome Keith...

My personal favorite, Beaver DHC-2 by Soulmade Simulations, not sure if Pete_SMS is the main contact?

The DC-3 by Leading Edge Simulations:

Sold at: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/douglas-p-84.html

There is also the C195 by Albeo, you might have their contact already? I personally don't own the C195 yet but it is on my list, from FlightSaitek's streams that looks like a real handful on touch down

I would participate in a tail dragger fly in...

The Carenado C185F would be a great addition to the CLS collection.

I think another fun idea would be a Float plane fly in: I don't suppose there are any controlled Seaplane bases in PE...
The Carenado C185F with the bush extension pack would also be a good float plane CSL.

Carenado hasn't worked out what they're comfortable releasing as a CSL yet, so I'll need to focus on other developers.
