I've only poked around in the X-Plane navigation database a few times, but I'm thinking that it should be possible to drum up an RNAV approach for the X-Plane 430. It's really a matter of putting together something that satisfies those instrument procedure design requirements. Anybody up for it?

By the way, to FSWind: I heard that the plates use Futura and Helvetica font styles. I just checked, and it does appear that most of the text is Futura. So maybe you can use the two to blend your text with the plate completely.

WOW. I haven't flown a liner in a while so I will be a spectator for this one. Love the waypoint names.

Good luck every one.

For X-plane (use at your own risk)
ILS 10 - add an ILS to runway 10 w/3.5 degree glide slope to the top of the hill blocking runway 10 (inner marker). After the inner marker, you are on your own for glide slope.
  • Copy the X-plane Resources\default data\earth_nav.dat to Custom Data\earth_nav.dat
  • Insert these lines at end of Custom Data\earth_nav.dat

Code: Select all

Agree- now if we can find some handy nav aids (JLI) and maybe rig up a VOR approach for those days when the fog has you trapped beneath terrain...
That would be really fun to try!

PE Team:

Any chance that you guys will provide "Tower" ATC for this event, or allow someone to control via UNICOM?
