VFR Group Flight #26
Lovely views, skill training and a hilltop landing

We'll be doing another early morning VFR group flight this Saturday 1/30. It will be a little different than before as I chose a route without the chance to get a landing with ATC this time. Curious if it's something you guys like.

Start your sim of choice, load up at a vacant ramp location in Byron (C83) and log into the Pilotedge network to join. We will use the #Briefing Room 1 on the Pilotedge discord server for the briefing. The briefing starts at 8:00 am PST. Information about the Pilotedge discord server can be found at the links below. After everyone is informed and ready we will advise when we switch to the local CTAF frequency.

We will leave Byron northwest bound, follow SR4 and fly over the Suisun Bay, Carquinez Strait and an edge of Pablo Bay. Our first goal for the day comes up quickly then, a touch-and-go landing in Petaluma (O69). We follow Highway 101 northwest bound and proceed to Healdsburg (KHES), where I am planning a full stop landing and taxi-back quick intermediate stop. That gives a great opportunity for training your skiills of spacing in a busy pattern. After that we follow the 101 even longer, our destination for today will be scenic Ells-Willits airport, located on a hilltop surrounded by forests.

This is a pretty basic procedure flight but with great views and is suitable for beginners. Preferably fly an aircraft that is easily able to maintain a cruise speed of around 90 kts.
