Voice server issue?

Post by TexFly »

I have been trying to use PE for the last 30 min. I can see the airplanes but cannot hear/talk. I switched to VATSIM to be sure that wasn't me and everything worked prperly. Now does not even connect...it stays in "conecting..". Just to let you guys know..

Alex,

I just checked with atc, they heard your radio call and responded. They are communicating with other aircraft with no issues. I am not sure what the issue is, but it appears to only be affecting you.

Let me know if it persists. What is your default output device?

Keith,

Not sure what happened. I was able to communicate in VATSIM. After a few touch-and-go I tried again running the PE client and it was not even connecting. I checked my output devices and everything was correct. I have been using the same configuration for months.

I shut everything down. I will try in the next few days and let you know.

Thanks for checking...

There is nothing in common with the VATSIM software, so other than it serving as a check that your audio hardware is functional, it doesn't mean that it's configured properly for PE.

That said, as you pointed out, this hasn't been an issue for you in the past. I don't know much about your configuration (single machine or multi-machine), but I do know that it was some sort of local playback issue, because on the initial test, ATC was hearing you. As for the case of not being able to connect at all later on, I am not sure.

I get the stuck in 'connecting ...' problem almost every flight. Click cancel, count to 5, and try again usually works for me. Very annoying though. Only started a couple of month back. Usually after I hit cancel, a 'protocol error' appears if that helps anyone.
