'turning the boat' at Newark

This is an oldie, but a goodie. If you've ever wondered what kind of work goes into a runway configuration change at a busy airport, check this out:

"turning the boat" refers to changing the runway configurations.

There are three videos on that page, just use the 'next' link directly above the video to move onto the next one. Each video is 5 mins long.

I still learn things about controlling techniques and the importance of coordination each time I watch this.

I don't even need to watch this again, to recall just how much you enjoyed yourself when some poor guy had to go into holding a few times :lol:
