I'm running X-plane 10.22 on Win7 64 bit. Downloaded the new X-plane plugin. I installed by deleting the entire pilotedge directory and replacing with the new downloaded version.
I'm able to connect and fly with no problems.
However, after landing at KSMO I'm totally surprised to hear the X-plane AI ATC. I'm also seeing AI planes.
I'm new to X-plane and still learning. But this never happened before the upgrade. Where to next?

Upgrade Notes
If upgrading from a previous version, we suggest disabling other AI aircraft since the current version of the plugin does NOT take control over the AI system, unlike previous versions. This means AI aircraft will be enabled and will be flying in the nearby area by default.
Go to Aircraft → Aircraft & Situations → Other, Set the NUMBER OF AIRCRAFT to 1.
